    Abstract:   (5238 Views)
The present study tested a mediation model consisting of job satisfaction as the dependent variable and core self-evaluations (CSE) as the independent variable, with perceived job characteristics and perceived organizational climateas its mediators. Using structural equation modelling (SEM), the relationships were examined in a sample of 294 full-time employees in an industrial organization in Ahvaz, Iran, who were selected by stratified random sampling method. Of this sample 94.5% were men with an average age of 42 years. Each participant in the study was required to complete four measures: Core Self-Evaluation Scale (CSES), Job in General Scale (JIGS), Job Diagnostic Survey (JDS), and Organizational Climate Scale. The results revealed that a) CSE was positively related to job satisfaction, b) CSE was positively related to perceived job characteristics and perceived organizational climate, c) perceived job characteristics and perceived organizational climatewere positively related to job satisfaction, and d) perceived job characteristics and perceived organizational climate partiallymediated the relationship of CSE with job satisfaction. Discussion and implications of the results are presented in the study.
